Washington, DC (September 22, 2010) The National Housing Conference (NHC) announces a partnership with the newly formed Young Leaders in Affordable Housing —a dynamic network for students and professionals under 35 years of age focused on providing professional development and leadership opportunities for its members in the affordable housing field.
“We are excited to incorporate the Young Leaders into the NHC family,” said NHC president and CEO Maureen Friar. "The cultivation of a new generation of leaders in the affordable housing field is integral to the future success of safe, decent and affordable housing for all in America,” she continued.
"We are extremely excited to be collaborating with the National Housing Conference,” said Lauren Eardensohn. “We feel that this partnership will be able to increase the opportunities for young professionals in our industry to grow professionally and personally.”
Activities hosted by the Young Leaders Network will include networking events, site visits to successful affordable housing developments, and educational programs designed to introduce the Young Leaders to a variety of industry topics. To mark this collaboration, NHC and the Young Leaders will co-host a number of events over the next few months. These include an "Introduction to NHC" reception on October 27, a kick-off event to launch the Young Leaders in November and a Young Leaders holiday party in December.
